This summer, Villa Medici is pleased to welcome French artist and sculptor Jean-Marie Appriou for his first solo exhibition in Italy featuring a series of new pieces that will populate the gardens of Villa Medici. These recent creations take up the core figures of his practice whose deeply dreamlike visual universe is imbued with telluric concerns. With great technical mastery, Jean-Marie Appriou represents fantastic worlds inhabited by human, animal, and plant figures.

Perrotin Seoul was pleased to present Everyday sunrise opening on Friday, August 5th at Perrotin Samcheong-dong, marking the first solo exhibition by Barry McGee in South Korea.

Taking inspiration from his native San Francisco, as well as the places he has resided in throughout his artistic career, McGee constructs site-specific installations that evoke his playful investigations into space and the unending dialogue between art and life.

Perrotin Dosan Park was pleased to present Illuminarium, a solo exhibition by artist Emma Webster, inaugurating our new Seoul space.

Emma Webster’s eerie compositions are invitations to travel beyond traditional vistas and into seductively hybrid environments that metabolize, materialize, and alchemize. Rendered in oil paint, her landscapes are simultaneously imaginary and familiar, gravity-defying yet abiding an internal order.

Dead Leg, Elizabeth Glaessner’s first solo exhibition with the gallery, brings together fifteen paintings, made over the course of the past two years, with a selection of recent works on paper.

In Dead Leg, her color palette has narrowed to blues, greens and browns; her subjects have been refocused around post-apocalyptic situations essentially featuring women in distress; her style, too, has sharpened and asserted itself: the ambitions of her painting are now precise and explicit.

Perrotin was pleased to present Flora and Fauna, a solo exhibition by artist Klara Kristalova, organized in the gallery’s New York space, and on view September 6 through October 22, 2022. Let the horse girl lead the way and the mouse man show the door. Then, the limbed tree will take the first step. The stage is set in Flora and Fauna, Klara Kristalova’s second New York exhibition of sculpture and drawing with Perrotin. The roles are cast and characters are entered; the make-ups are of glaze, the expressions, in stoneware.
